Applying for NSP is a simple four step
process:
Step
One: The first step is to complete the
Rockdale County Homeownership Application. All applications remain on file
through the end of the program. Applicants receive priority based of the date
of application and not the date of eligibility. Applicants are encourage to
apply early due to high demand for Rockdale NSP homes.
Step Two: NSP
homebuyers are responsible for securing financing for the NSP home. The program
will only provide down payment assistance and closing cost contributions. A
suggested lender's list is available upon request.
Step Three: Rockdale
County NSP requires completion of an eight-hour homebuyer education session from
a HUD certified agency. Six hours are conducted in a group setting and a
two-hour individual counseling session. Rockdale NSP offers homebuyer education
once a month. Homebuyer education requirements must be completed prior to
closing.
Step Four: Select a
home from the Rockdale County NSP's
